Finding a nice place where to stay in Luang Prabang Laos, in general, seems like an easy task but once we went into details, it wasn’t so easy after all.
Laos is the kind of country that’s still just developing and you shouldn’t expect extremely high-quality standards whether you plan to stay at one of the Luang Prabang 5 star hotels or some of the midrange or budget guesthouses.
However, there are a few gems that can be found!
Luang Prabang and Laos overall is known as a place with not the best WiFi in comparison to other SE Asia countries nearby.
While it’s not a critical issue for those on vacation, it’s was pretty important to us, as we travel and work from our laptops at the same time.
So all the Luang Prabang hotels we recommend here has a good WiFi for working or surfing the web during our vacation.
Another factor you want to look at is the location. It’s best to go for hotels in Luang Prabang city center, as moving around with a taxi is not the cheapest thing if you have to do a haggle about it daily with the taxi drivers. It’s way better to be around the central part of the city with the night market, the walking street, temples, and all the nice cafes.
To make the task of picking the best places to stay in Luang Prabang way easier for you, here are our personal recommendations of great and stylish Luang Prabang accommodation.

Good place for couples as much as families. Oh, and the best part that I found missing in most of the places in Laos – they pay attention to small details to make a guest’s stay perfect!

Lakangthong 2 Friendly House & Swimming Pool
This guesthouse in another great budget accommodation in Luang Prabang. It’s quite simple, yet very clean and comfortable with a nice shower and AC.
The thing that people love the most about it is the pool, which is quite rare in Luang Prabang guest houses at a budget level.
The breakfast is included in the room price and has a nice selection of fruit along with other choices. What makes this a rare find is a good WiFi, as, in almost 90% of Laos accommodations, the WiFi quality is very weak.
This guesthouse is located about a 15-minute walk away from the main walking street and all the cheap street food options.

The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Most people love this place for their good breakfast choice for the low price they pay and this is another one of the very few places with good WiFi.
Another just as important factor in favor of choosing View Khemkhong Guesthouse as one of the best places to stay in Luang Prabang is the owner of this guesthouse, who will take good care of you and give you all the information to make your trip in Laos as good as possible.
