To me Ho Chi Minh city (or Saigon) always associates with high energy, busy streets, never ending traffic (which it something so epic that it's a must-see at least one in your life). Basically with something happening full-speed all the time.
But sometimes you may want to slow down and enjoy some peace and quiet. And that's when Le Méridien Saigon comes in.
We stayed here on our second visit to Ho Chi Minh - a quick stop over/ weekend trip to Saigon on the way from Hong Kong to Bali. And it was the stylish oasis for relaxation that we were hoping for.
Should you stay at Le Méridien Saigon on your next trip to Ho Chi Minh city?

HIGHS & LOWS
TASTE Le Meridien breakfast buffet is something I always look forward with the biggest excitement and here it didn’t disappoint at all. I love Vietnamese traditional breakfast sour PHO so much and here it tasted perfect.
LOUNGE Having access to the concierge lounge you’ll get to expereince their „evening pre-dinner snacks”. The mini burgers, along with sushi and other bites were the best pre-dinner snacks I’ve had! WHOOAA! I’m really not just saying that. I still can’t forget that awesome taste.
LOCATION It’s located on the riverfront road which means it’s not right in th middle of all the District 1 action. But that’s actually a good thing, as it’s not too loud and busy with people. And we easily walked to the central parts (Nguyen Hue Walking street) within 10 minutes.
POOL VIEWS The skyline of Ho Chi Minh from the pool lounging deck is a view that is still in my mind and is my favorite memory about our whole stay there. Who knew that Ho Chi Minh could look like mini-Hong Kong? Totally unexpected.

MUST BRING
WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA

Visit Nguyen Hue Walking Street
After this trip to Ho Chi Minh this became our favorite place in the city. It’s a bustling walking street, offering a bit of history, a bit of Saigon’s awesome coffee scene and just great city vibes.

Have coffee at the most unique coffee shop ever - the Coffee Apartments
It’s an regular apartment building with each apartment turned into a trendy coffee shop or a small stylish boutique shop. It’s the coolest hipster place I’ve ever seen. And honestly – I’ve seen a lot. It’s located right there on the Nguyen Hue Walking street.

Get a taste of street food and shopping at Ben Thanh Market
It’s about 30 min walk from Le Meridien Saigon, but it’s surely an interesting one. This market is lively during the day as well as night way past the midnight. Street markets are such a cool way how to get to know the local culture – especially if you’re there for the first time. And Ben Thanh market is especially right for that.
GETTING THERE
ADDRESS: 3C Ton Duc Thang, District 1, 84 Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
FROM THE … AIRPORT: 7km – 30 min. The easiest and also the cheapest way is to take a Grab taxi. There’s WiFi at the airport to order one and you don’t even need cash to pay for it. Just choose the „pay by card” option on your Grab app. The cost was 110000 VND + 10000 VND added as the airport parking exit fee that you’re expected to pay. It total just around XXX USD.
BY BUS: You can also take a bus from the airport to the city center. But none of them stop near Le Meridien, so it’s not the most comfortable option. Plus, if it’s at least 2 people, Grab taxi becomes the cheapest option.
