WHY ARE WE SHARING OUR STRATEGIES AND DATABASE WITH EVERYONE?

Database of Hotels That Work With Bloggers & A Guide How to Pitch Hotels

We started our travel blog not that long ago ourselves. The beginning was pretty difficult as we didn’t know what we are doing, being totally new to travel blogging. And it felt like nothing and no-one are helping. We knew we wanted to work with hotels and get those complimentary stays. So we’d send out around 100 emails to different hotels in one destination and all we got was 1 reply politely saying “No, thank you!”

We spent a lot of time reading countless articles on how to pitch hotels written by other bloggers. We spent a lot of money buying courses, eBooks, and email templates, just to discover that they don’t work. The problem was that most of these materials don’t really reveal any real strategies or steps, that lead to landing actual free hotel stays. It’s just a big amount of “information bullshit” and that made us mad.

So we decided, once we’ll crack the “mystery” of how to get hotels to work with us, we’ll share it with the new bloggers out there. Thinking back, we’d so have appreciated it if somebody had really done that when we started.

We were putting together a database with hotels that we know are working with bloggers, sending out pitches, and analyzing our mistakes. The database eventually gave us the right direction on how to think and we managed to come up with our own ideal formula, that we still use today.

Turns out that one of the main keys is to pitch the right hotels, not just a large number or any hotels. Therefore we’ve gone from “100 emails = 1 response only saying No” to “10 emails = 6 or more Yes”!

If at the beginning we were mostly pitching hotels for complimentary stays, then now this experience and created materials are our portfolio, that lands us more serious, paid projects. Working with hotels is a great way how to get sponsored to travel.

For example, we’ve been working with such worldwide hotel chains as Four Seasons, Fraser, and Le Meridien, where we have even become their official photo artists this year.

HERE’S WHAT OTHER BLOGGERS HAVE SAID!

Lottie Reeves from Female Travel Bloggers

” This eBook is filled with great tips to help you get started with pitching – I had no idea how to find hotels that work with bloggers so even that firsts step was holding me back until I read this! It is also filled with useful reminders of how to promote the pitch to the hotel in ways that show you want to work with them to create a mutually beneficial deal – rather than to just have a free trip. With so many bloggers pitching hotels, module 5 was really useful to know how to stand out from the crowd when using my newly crafted pitches. 🙂 “

    Vicki Franz from Vicki Viaja

” The e-book How to pitch Hotels for Collaborations by Anete was super helpful. It’s full of great ideas that I probably would have never thought of on my own. After having some unsuccessful pitches, this book was exactly what I needed to read to understand what I did wrong in my pitches in the past. The templates provided in the book show you exactly how your pitch should look like and what you should include – and what not. Now I am confident to try again and I am sure I will have more success this time. I can absolutely recommend reading this book if you want to collaborate with hotels. “

Teréz Julianna Szabo from Letters From A Traveling Girl

” Overall I really like this book and it gives great advice. Having an idea from the hospitality industry, I can see how these suggestions can work. It has really helped me get an idea of how to get into this. “

Theresa Ladner from Adventures in Middle-Aged Travel

” ‘How to Successfully Pitch Hotels for Collaborations’ is a must-read for new and experienced travel bloggers who want to up their collaboration game. The authors have filled this handy e-book with common-sense tips and tricks that are explained in easy to read, straightforward language. Step-by-step examples and templates make it a snap. The icing on the cake is the list of included hotels all over the world that are known to work with travel bloggers. I would highly recommend this e-book. “

  1. Does you book explain how to add a clause about what you will do if you don’t like the hotel? I.e. it turns out the hotel is unsatisfactory so you can’t recommend it to your followers?

  2. Excellent ebook!
Lot of good strategies in here especially email templates.

    1. I’m glad you found it useful and wish you a success in future hotel collabs! 😉

  3. I wanna have more information about the database please, is just a list of hotel? every single hotel or chains of hotels? there are any explanation or is just a simple list?

Because send an email from a 20k profile is not the same to send it from a 100k, is there any example or proven collaboration that you provide or is just a list?

    Thanks,

    1. Hi Rodrigo,

Thank you for your questions! The list contains specific hotels that have worked with bloggers or influencers! No chains! You will find location and hotel category (luxury, mid-range, budget) for each of them.

Thinking just from the numbers perspective when working with hotels is not the best approach to succeed. We got our first paid hotel collaboration at the 4th month of blogging being nowhere near 20K. The book includes our strategy on how to find the right hotels to work with, how to pitch them (with email templates included), what to offer hotels within the collab and what not to do.

Landing a collaboration with a hotel that knows the value of influencer marketing often is way easier. Our hotel database will help with that a lot. However, that’s with a precondition, that the right strategy is used to pitch them. And it’s exactly what you can learn in the book.

      Have a great day!
      Anete

  4. Is there information on Seattle Hotel contacts inside it?

    1. Hi Jenne,

We are not sharing direct contacts for any of the hotels, as that information sometimes is treated as confidential by the hotels and we’ll always respect that. However, we do share a step by step guide in this eBook on how to find contacts of any hotel you’d like to approach. So if you get this book, it will help you find the contacts you’re looking for.

      Good luck,
      Anete

    Thank you!
